Tera mera

Mujhko mera rabb de sai, tujhko tera Maula;

Mera Rabb mennu sab kucch denda, tera tennu barkat

Mera pyaala bharta dekh, tu kahe ko tarpat?

Mera Sai mujhmein hain, tera tu jaane kit thaur

Tera man bechain hain, to kahe badhe meri aur?

Main pyaasa is chhor noon, tu pyaasa us chhor

main pyaala tu ghat bhar, nadi na phir bhi tor

Tu barh charh hai sar chada, main bhi vaar chalaaoon

Phoonk bachi kya raakh mein, jo ab bhi kahar ho daare

Translation:

Mujhko mera rabb de sai, tujhko tera Maula;

To me give my god, O protector, and to you – your redeemer

Whosoever receives bows their head (in truth), then why such noisy chaos(fight)?

Mera Rabb mennu sab kucch denda, tera tennu barkat

Mera pyaala bharta dekh, tu kahe ko tarpat?

My god gives me everything, yours gives you plenty

When you see my cup filling up with plenty, why does it trouble you?

Mera Sai mujhmein hai, tera tu jaane kit thaur

Tera man bechain hain, to kahe badhe hai meri aur?

My protector lives within me, Im sure you know more about yours

If your mind is not at peace, why do you advance menacingly towards me?

Main pyaasa is chhor hoon, tu pyaasa us chhor

Main pyaala tu ghat bhare, nadi na phir bhi tor

I am thirsty on this bank, you thirsty on the other bank

Just because I fill my cup this side, and you fill your (bigger) pot; It does not make the river yours

Tu barh charh hai sar-chada, main bhi vaar chalaaoon

Ghar donon ke jal marein, bache na koi thaun

You overstepped and have imposed, I too have attacked

Both our houses have been burnt, and now no home remains

Dying will do you no good, nor will dying/killing give me peace

The day has passed in enmity, now comes the dark night

Chaar kadam tujh ko mile, aath kadam hum haare

Phoonk bachi kya raakh mein, jo ab bhi kahar ho daare

You got four steps, we lost eight

What wind remains in this ash that you continue to bring the apocalypse?

  1. Umda . Thank you M

Writings, including Poetry are supposed to entertain, provoke thought, make us wonder, titillate ,inform, educate ? What did I miss !

not sure who has written the following , loved it.

lekin har bar lada hu wapas uth uth kar
isse mera har ik gunah mujhse hara
maine zindagi ko is kadar sawara
dooba hu har bar kinare tak aa aa kar
lekin har roj uga hoon jaise ugta hai dinkar
isse meri har ek asafalta mujhse haari
meine apne hathon se taqdeer badal dali
