Mehek Uthi

Mere haathon se teri mehek uthi hai aaj
Haath uth-te hi nazarein jhuka karti hain
Bheeni si tedi si muskurahat mod leti hai
Aur timtimati hai voh chhupi bijliyaan

From my hands the scent of you has risen today
As my hands rise, the eyes look down
A slight, skewed smile turns the corner
And hidden lightening twinkles

(of course the poem could mean its exact opposite too..the word ‘uth’ means rise,or, to get up. The scent could either have risen, or it could even have gone (got up and gone). Then the poem reads very differently)

(as before, if it is on this blog, then it is just a draft… the final verse will look quite different)
